Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me focus on the Scottish card, and there’s one fixture, in particular, that stands out to me for goals.

Two clubs separated only by goal-difference in the Championship table meet at Firhill tomorrow afternoon as fifth-placed Partick Thistle host fourth-placed Greenock Morton.
Partick Thistle suffered more away-day misery last time out, as they were beaten 2-0 by Queen’s Park, leaving them six points behind The Spiders after playing a game more. Ian McCall’s visitors not only possess the division’s second-worst defence, but they have registered just two clean sheets this season – with both coming against second-from-bottom Arbroath. However, The Jags remain the Championship’s top scorers, finding the back of the net 40 times so far this season, with 27 of those coming at home.
Greenock Morton stretched their unbeaten record in the Championship to 10 matches, as they came from two goals down to draw 2-2 away at Raith Rovers just before Christmas. Dougie Imrie’s side have failed to score in just two of their 18 league outings this season and come into this fixture having scored 12 goals across their previous six matches. However, The Ton have kept just two clean sheets across their 10 league matches on the road this season, conceding 14 goals.
Bet of the Day
Partick Thistle have failed to score in just one of their opening 10 league fixtures at home this season – scoring on multiple in the eight of those – and given Greenock Morton have found the back of the net in all bar two of their opening 18 league outings this season, I expect both of these clubs to get on the scoresheet at Firhill on Saturday afternoon.
Over 2.5 goals has landed in a league-high 15/20 (75%) of Partick Thistle’s Championship fixtures this season – including in 9/10 (90%) at home – and given both side’s records at both ends of the pitch, I reckon we’ll see at least three strikes and both teams scoring for the third consecutive meeting between the pair this season.
