After tipping up another winner on Wednesday night, SlipsTips casts his eye over the Bet Builder market ahead of Saturday nights Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid.
Liverpool vs Real Madrid (Saturday, 20:00)
The Stade de France plays host to the Champions League final on Saturday night, as Liverpool meet Real Madrid.
After eliminating Inter in the last 16, the Reds then made light work of Benfica before recording a 5-2 aggregate win over Villarreal at the semi-final stage.
As for Real Madrid, their route to the final has been remarkable, having made amazing comebacks in the knockout stages to see off Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester City.
Liverpool are general 11/10 chances inside normal time while Real are the 5/2 outsiders but given that this could go to extra-time I’ll instead make use of the Bet Builder feature.
Combining Liverpool to lift the trophy, over zero Liverpool goals and over two Liverpool corners will bring about a backable 4/5 (Bet 365) shot.
Whilst comeback kings Real Madrid’s continental nous and fighting spirit cannot be questioned, I suspect this could be a step too far for the Spanish kings.
Los Blancos have unquestionably rode their luck to reach this year’s showpiece and Liverpool’s scoring record this season suggests they can outscore their Spanish counterparts.
Jurgen Klopp’s star-studded side have been scoring freely this season, racking up 94 goals across their 38 Premier League matches, and it’s also worth pointing out that the Merseysiders have made the net bulge at least once in nine of their 10 Champions League outings, averaging a lofty three goals per-game across that sample.
That doesn’t bode well for a Real Madrid defence that have looked leaky throughout this year’s competition, with Carlo Ancelotti’s side shipping at least one goal in each of their last six knockout ties.
As such, I’m more than happy to back Liverpool to strike at least once here and with the Premier League side expected to dictate the tempo of the game, I’ll also throw over two Liverpool corners into the mix.
The Anfield outfit have averaged north of seven flag kicks per game in this season’s Champions League, covering the 3+ line in nine of their 10 outings at Europe’s top table this term to date
With all this in mind, the aforementioned combination looks like a nice way in as Liverpool look to win the European Cup for the seventh time in their history.
