Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me delve into League Two in England and there’s a match that appeals to me for goals at both ends.
Salford City vs Crawley Town
🏴 League Two
⏰ Tuesday 29th March, 19:45
Two sides in mid-table in League Two go head-to-head at the Peninsula Stadium, as Salford host Crawley. The hosts are currently in 11th position, a place and five points better off than their visiting opponents.
Salford managed to keep their playoff hopes alive last time out, as they came from behind to defeat Walsall 2-1. As well as winning each of their last two, Gary Bowyer’s side also come into this on a nine-match unbeaten run (W5-D4-L0), last suffering defeat away to third-placed Northampton at the end of January. Salford have found the back of the net in 29/37 of their League Two fixtures this season, including in nine of their last 10 on home turf. The Ammies have conceded in each of their last six at the Peninsula, as well as in eight of their last 10, with both clean sheets coming against two of the current bottom-three.
Crawley bounced back from their five-match winless run, as they come into this off the back of successive wins against both Swindon and Rochdale. John Yems’s side have lost their last two away from home against two of the current top-four, but prior to that, they had lost just one of their previous nine on their travels (W5-D3-L1). Crawley have scored in 31/38 of their League Two fixtures this season, and have found the back of the net in each of their last 15 matches away from home. Only bottom side Scunthorpe (6) have kept fewer clean sheets than Crawley in League this season (7), with just one of those shutouts coming in the Red Devils last 10 matches away from home.
Bet of the Day
Both sides coming into this having won back-to-back matches and know if they wish to keep their playoff hopes alive, they need to collect another three points here. These two have scored in 60/75 of their combined matches in the English fourth-tier this season, with Gary Bowyer’s hosts scoring in 13 of their last 15 at home, whilst the visiting Red Devils have scored in each of their last 15 away from home. Given both these sides records in front of goal, plus the fact Salford have conceded in eight of their last 10 at home, including each of their last six and only bottom side Scunthorpe registering fewer clean sheets than Crawley in League Two, there’s a good chance we’ll see both sides net at the Peninsula on Tuesday evening.
