Nottingham Forest have rolled back the years in this year’s FA Cup campaign but they could run out of gas this afternoon with Liverpool the visitors in the sixth round of the FA Cup.
The Tricky Trees have been the team of the tournament so far, knocking out Arsenal and cup holders Leicester on their way to their first quarter-final since the 1995-96 campaign but it doesn’t come much tougher than welcoming seven-time winners Liverpool to the City Ground.
The Reds are as short as 2/7 to qualify inside the 90 minutes and the only concern would be complacency from Jurgen Klopp’s men. But they don’t play for a week after this so Klopp can afford to field a string line-up here and should secure a safe passage to the next round.
Liverpool are 4/5 to be winning at half-time and full-time and as much as Forest have had a great run this seaosn the gulf in quality wil surely tell this afternoon. Keep an eye on the team news and if Liverpool go strong from the off them this bet looks a runner.
Everton‘s late winner against Newcastle may have provided the spark their season needed. They visit Crystal Palace this afternoon and look slightly overpriced at 10/3. Manager Frank Lampard has a tremendous record in the competition as a player and as one-off matches go Palace don’t feel like 4/9 shots to qualify here. With Calvert-Lewin back Everton are worth a punt at the price.
Leicester City have enjoyed an upturn in form in recent weeks. Yes they lost to Rennes in midweek but it was good enough to see them qualify for the last eight of the Europa Conference and there’ll be a feel-good-factor around the King Power at the prospect of European success.
Brentford have won two on the bounce but those wins have came against bottom two sides Burnely and Norwich and Leicester represent a step up in class. Back the Foxes to win at 6/5.
