Kelso host one of their biggest meetings of the season on Saturday, with the Morebattle Hurdle, Premier Novices’ Hurdle and Premier Chase all providing lucrative prize money on their seven-race card.
The action takes place between 1.00-4.25 and you can watch it all via live streaming when logged into MansionBet – alongside all the action from the UK and Ireland. Our tipster has previewed Kelso’s Saturday card.
1.00 – bet365 Juvenile Hurdle (2m)
GENUFLEX is the only winner lining up in this opening race of the card at Kelso, which means he will need to carry a penalty. Milton Harris’ runner featured in a Grade One contest earlier in the campaign. This race is a big step down in class for him and it represents a great opportunity to get back to winning ways.
Selection: Genuflex @ 1/1
1.32 – bet365 Premier Novices’ Hurdle (2m2f – Grade 2)
Both BOLD ENDEAVOUR and Honneaur D’Ajonc have been in excellent form this season heading into this Grade Two contest. The former is unbeaten in two starts over hurdles following impressive wins at Sedgefield and Wetherby, and he gets the nod to maintain his 100% record in the Premier Novices’ Hurdle.
Selection: Bold Endeavour @ 13/2
2.05 – bet365 Handicap Hurdle (2m5f)
Ayr winner FAMOUS BRIDGE looked to be on course for a second success over hurdles over this C&D last month. He was in control of the race when he unseated Brian Hughes from the saddle at the penultimate hurdle. Nicky Richards’ gelding can gain compensation for that mistake on his return to this course.
Selection: Famous Bridge @ 2/1
2.40 – bet365 Premier Chase (2m7½f – Listed)
ITCHY FEET has been running well this season without success. He has finished a close second behind both Allmankind and Bravemansgame. The former Grade One winner has blinkers on for the first time in this Listed race and they may just help him produce his best form again.
Selection: Itchy Feet @ 4/1
3.15 – bet365 Morebattle Hurdle (2m)
Two-time Champion Hurdle winner BUVEUR D’AIR is the headline runner in this year’s Morebattle Hurdle. The multiple Grade One winner will have to carry 11st 12lb for this handicap assignment, but his fourth place in the Aintree Hurdle last season shows he still retains his ability. If he finds anything near his best again, he will take a lot of beating, despite the weight disadvantage.
Selection: Buveur D’Air @ 7/1
3.43 – bet365 Cyril Alexander Memorial Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase (2m1f)
Since moving to Jamie Snowden’s yard from France back in September, HARDY DU SEUIL has shown he has a bright future over fences. Wins have come at Carlisle (2m4f) and Hereford (2m). On his latest effort at Haydock (2m4f), he chased home Minella Drama on soft ground in a Grade Two contest. The unexposed five-year-old is the one to beat on his return to handicap company.
Selection: Hardy Du Seuil @ 2/1
4.25 – bet365 Handicap Chase (2m1f)
THE BIG JETAWAY showed no signs of inexperience when he scored on his chase debut at Sedgefield (2m1f) last month. Donald McCain’s runner looked to improve for the switch to fences. He can defy his 5lb rise in the ratings and maintain his 100% start to his career as a chaser.
Selection: The Big Jetaway @ 2/1
