Go For Goals as Livi Face Leaders Celtic

After a midweek round of matches, the 12 teams in the Scottish Premiership are back to business this weekend.

The battle at the top and bottom of the table is hotting up and there are some key games over the course of Saturday and Sunday.

In-Form Livingston Can Make Bhoys Work

Sunday’s only Scottish top-flight clash takes place at the Tony Macaroni Stadium, as fourth face first in a 12-noon showdown.

David Martindale has done an impressive job getting Livingston into the European places and they head into this game unbeaten in their last five league matches.

The West Lothian outfit beat Celtic 1-0 back in September, with Andrew Shinnie scoring a first-half winner, while Hibs and Dundee United have also been beaten at Almondvale.

Celtic are certainly a different team since then and Ange Postecoglou has stamped his ideas and ethos on the Hoops, who still have a three-point lead at the top.

Prior to the recent 0-0 draw at Hibs, Celtic had scored 12 goals in their previous four away league games and they are unbeaten in 12 games on the road since that defeat at Livingston.

The visitors are 4/11 to collect another three points, with Livingston available at 15/2 and the draw is 15/4. Both teams to score looks a real possibility and can be backed at 21/20.

Rangers Out for Dons Revenge

Rangers have dropped points in their last two meetings with Aberdeen and will be out to put more pressure on the Dons at Ibrox on Saturday (3pm).

Jim Goodwin’s men head to Glasgow having failed to win any of their last nine Scottish Premiership matches, which leaves them third from bottom.

In contrast, Rangers are unbeaten in eight in all competitions and have scored 18 goals in their last seven games at Ibrox.

With Celtic not playing until Sunday, Giovanni van Bronckhorst will emphasise the importance of putting the pressure on their Old Firm rivals.

Rangers are 4/13 to beat the Dons while over 3.5 goals for the home team can be backed at 9/2.

Saints Can Help Survival Cause

St Johnstone find themselves just one point off the bottom of the table and face a trip to Easter Road to face Hibs (3pm).

Saints lost 1-0 to Rangers in midweek but it was a performance that showed the fight and organisation they will need to avoid the drop.

Although they are six places and 13 points behind their opponents, Callum Davidson will head to the capital optimistic they can take something from an out-of-sorts Hibs.

The hosts have claimed just one league win in their last nine games and have failed to score in five of their last six top-flight matches.

Saints have had a player sent off in their last two meetings with Hibs and if they keep the full compliment on the pitch, evens for double-chance St Johnstone is a tempting offer.
