The Bolton-based Khan hasn’t fought since July 2019, when he claimed the vacant WBC International welterweight title with a 4th round stoppage against the Australian Billy Dib in Saudi Arabia.
In reality, that was something of an exhibition fight, and three months earlier he suffered a 6th round knockout in a WBO World Welterweight title bout against the undefeated American Terence Crawford.

The Backgrounds
In total, Khan has suffered five defeats in his career, including four stoppages by Crawford, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, Danny Garcia and Breidis Prescott.
Brook has been in the ring more recently than Khan, having also lost to Crawford in November 2020 via a 4th round KO in what was another WBO World Welterweight title bout.
Brook has lost three of his last six bouts, with his other losses coming by knockout against Errol Spence Jr. (May 2017) and Gennady Golovkin (September 2016). The latter fight resulted in Brook suffering a broken eye socket.

Champion of Champions
Amir Khan is a former unified light-welterweight world champion, who held the WBA title from 2009 to 2012 and the IBF title in 2011. The Sheffield-based Kell Brook is also a former IBF welterweight champion, having held the belt from 2014 to 2017.
This fight could come down to which of the two has the most desire at this stage of their career. Khan is deemed to have something of a glass jaw, but Brook suffered a devastating loss to Golovkin back in 2016 and has never really looked the same fighter since.
