5.00 – Betway Casino Handicap (5f)
Phil McEntee’s gelding TELL’EM NOWT has been in excellent form in 2022. He has won all three races this year and comes into this sprint contest looking to complete a four-timer. The son of Belardo has been timing his run perfectly at the business end of his races and he can extend his winning sequence despite a 5lb penalty on his back.
Selection: Tell’em Nowt
5.30 – Betway Handicap (1m4f)
SOARING STAR has had to settle for second place on his last two outings. Philip Kirby’s runner remains off a very dangerous mark of 72 though and has dropped down in class here. Despite having top weight on his back, he can get his nose in front in what will be a deserved reward for some consistent performances recently.
Selection: Soaring Star
6.00 – MansionBet Beaten By A Head Apprentice Handicap (7f)
Since moving to Richard Fahey’s yard back in December, SIR MAXI‘s form has improved, albeit without a success yet. He was denied by just a short head at Newcastle (7f) on his penultimate outing. The handicapper has eased the four-year-old 1lb in the ratings and he has a great chance of ending his losing run in this 7f contest.
Selection: Sir Maxi
6.30 – MansionBet Proud Partners Of The AWC Handicap (7f)
All five of LOVE YOUR WORK‘s victories have come at this course, including a C&D success on his latest outing just five days ago. Rebecca Menzies’ runner is making a quick reappearance and he escapes a penalty. He is likely to set the pace once again and he may not see another rival.
Selection: Love Your Work
7.00 – Play Coral Racing-Super-Series For Free Handicap (7f)
SWEET MIST took advantage of a lenient handicap mark to break his maiden at Newcastle (7f) by six lengths. It is no surprise the handicapper has put him up 13lb for this latest assignment. However, that rise might not be enough to stop him from following up with another success.
Selection: Sweet Mist
7.30 – Betway Casino Handicap (2m½f)
Charlie and Mark Johnston have just one runner on the card at Southwell with KING’S ADVICE featuring in this 2m½f handicap contest for the Kingsley Park team. This horse has been successful in some big races in his career, including the Summer Handicap at Glorious Goodwood. The eight-year-old is no longer up to that standard, but he remains good enough to prevail in a race of this quality.
Selection: King’s Advice
8.00 – Betway Novice Stakes (6f)
The absence of Palifico has really opened the door for SILVER DOLLAR to get off the mark at the second time of asking. Robert Eddery’s gelding came home in midfield on his debut but expect to see him improve now he knows what it is all about. He only has three rivals to beat in this race and two of them are exposed.
Selection: Silver Dollar
