Halfway through another week on the greyhounds so it’s off to Harlow for the Wednesday night racing. A couple of recent winners are back in action again at a track that has plenty of specialist performers.
Minnie to Come Home the Strongest
Diesel Minnie is a very strong runner over the 592m trip at Harlow and she can show off her power-packed finish once more in the 19.24 for Mark Fawsitt.
She beat a pair of these a couple of weeks back here, with little in that form to suggest that either will be able to turn that around in a clean run race. She always needs a little luck to get the gaps at the right time but this should be run to suit.
Blondie to Make It 3/3 Here
Marlene Westwood will be delighted with Ashville Blondie on her two prior visits to Harlow. She won both her heat and a final over this 592m trip in maiden company and can add another success now up a level.
She has a little more early boot on occasions than she has shown in that pair, having to come from behind in her wins. That suggests she is more than capable of weaving a path through here, but if she were to lead she could produce something very smart at 20.03.
Layton to Take a Step Towards Legend Status
A heat winner last week, Layton Legend should have too much for these to handle. He got a bump at the opening turn but he was still able to take the measure of Endova Piper by the third turn.
He has some solid sprint efforts so he is capable of showing that pace once more to halfway and should have the 20.43 in safe keeping before they turn for home to score for Stephen Fletcher.
Lily to Finally Claim a Harlow Win
It’s been a frustrating run for Dapper Lily in races here over both six and eight bends. She has more than enough ability to land one of these for Gemma Evans and the door can finally open for her in the 18.48.
She didn’t stay a longer trip last week but got on the bunny and gave a bold sight out in front. That should have helped her confidence after some rough rides over this trip and a similar break can see her cash in.
Pearl to Prove Her Value
Pete Held has had Sminky Pearl in excellent form of late, winning multiple top grade sprints at Hove. She trialled no more than respectably in a recent workout here but that experience should not be lost on her.
Early pace has won her the day over shorter trips in recent outings so she should be able to lead these around the opening turn at 20.43. She has gone to the pickup fine at Hove so this longer trip should not be an issue for her.
