Everton’s slide down the table continued this weekend and they’ve not even kicked a ball yet.
Points picked up by Leeds and Southampton pushed the Toffees down to 16th in table, just five points above the relegation zone so it’s no wonder the natives are restless on the blue half of Merseyside.
However, Rafa Benitez’s men have the chance to jump to 12th in the table with a win over visitors Arsenal tonight. But the Gunners have their own incentive to pick up the three points – the chance to move back up to fifth in the table and leapfrog rivals Tottenham.
While Mikel Arteta has turned things around their best work has been done at home so his side need to lay down a few markers away from home where they’ve scored just five goals in seven games and won just seven points of 21 available.
But anyone who who has watched Everton recently would struggle to back them to win at the moment. Liverpool dismantled them in the Merseyside Derby last week. It’s now nine games since they tasted victory (D2 L8) and are priced at 12/5 to win this evening.
Depsite the fact that the Gunners have failed to win on their last three visits to Goodison Park they have to be the bet tonight at 11/10.
A huge thanks to The Caddy who signed off for the year with another couple of profitable selections this week. Sam Burns blew his chances when triple bogeying the 14th when top of the leaderboard at the Hero World Challenge but he held on to claim an each-way T3rd finish at 16/1. Justin Thomas also landed the matchbet NAP comfortably with six shots to spare.
It’s been an incredible year of profit for The Caddy’s followers and we look forward to welcoming him back in the new year.
