Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on the English League 1. I’ve picked a couple of selections which I like the look of to give us a nice odds against double.
Bournemouth vs Preston North End
🏴 Championship
⏰ Wednesday 3rd November, 19:45
League leaders Bournemouth look to continue their superb form as they host Preston at the Vitality Stadium. The hosts come into this top and five points clear of Fulham, whereas Preston lie in 17th position.
Bournemouth made it five wins on the spin at the weekend as they defeated Reading 0-2 at the Madjeski. The Cherries remain the only unbeaten side in the Championship, and have taken 37 points from their opening 15 fixtures. After drawing their first two matches at the Vitality this season, Bournemouth have now won each of their last five at home, scoring 12 times. No side have conceded less goals (8) or kept more clean sheets (9) than Bournemouth in the Championship this season.
Preston come into this winning two of their last three matches, however both of those victories came at home. In fact, Preston remain winless in seven road trips this season, losing four times. That includes losing each of their last two away assignments to both QPR and rivals Blackpool, conceding five times in the process. Preston have scored just five times on their travels this season, failing to score in four of their seven away games.
West Brom vs Hull City
🏴 Championship
⏰ Wednesday 3rd October, 20:00
Two sides at opposite ends of the Championship table meet at the Hawthorns on Wednesday evening as West Brom host Hull City. The hosts lie in 3rd spot and four points behind Fulham in 2nd. The visitors, meanwhile, lie 22nd and are three points from safety.
West Brom will be looking for a response here after being defeated 3-0 by fellow promotion rivals Fulham on Saturday. That’s now three defeats in a row away from home for the Baggies, however they have been more consistent at home this season. West Brom are only one of two sides who remain unbeaten at home in the Championship and also have the best defensive record, conceding four goals. The Baggies have won five of their seven matches at home this season, including each of their last three.
Hull City were defeated 0-1 by Coventry City at the weekend to make it four defeats in a row. Ever since an opening day 1-4 win against Preston, Hull have failed to win or even score a goal in any of their next six away matches, losing five of them. No side has scored fewer goals in the Championship than Hull (9) this season, with them also failing to score in 10/15 of their matches.
Bet of the Day
Bournemouth have been in remarkable form this season, as they sit five points clear at the top of the Championship, with them also being the only side still unbeaten. The Cherries have won nine of their last 10 matches and they will be confident of defeating a Preston side who have lost 4/7 away from this season, and are still yet to win on their travels. West Brom should get back to winning ways at home to a Hull side who have lost each of their last four matches, as well as five of their last six games away from home, in which they’ve failed to score a single goal. West Brom remain unbeaten at home, winning 5/7 and I fully expect them to make it number six against hapless Hull.
- Bournemouth to win
- West Brom to win
- Double Pays 5/4 (Various)
