The body of work ELDRICKJONES has amassed this summer includes four starts in Group 2 company, the best of which was his runner-up effort in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot in June. He’s at home over this 6f and he made no mistake at Pontefract last time to net a first win. Cheekpieces are added for the first time now and, even allowing for softer going, Roger Fell’s charge should be too strong again at this level.

2.30 – MansionBet Beaten By A Head Fillies’ Handicap (1m6f)
Her Indoors has won both at Listed and Grade 3 level over timber this year for Alan King and the Raven’s Pass filly really does command close scrutiny returned from a break back on the level. Marginal preference is for John & Thady Gosden’s Galileo filly FUTURE, the mount of Cieren Fallon here. A Windsor novice scorer in August over a 1m2f, she should have more to come at this new trip, being a sister to the likes of Latrobe and Pink Dogwood.

3.05 – British EBF Future Stayers Oath Novice Stakes (1m½f)
This could be a race worth following. Grenoble is a Group 1-entered and shaped with plenty promise in second on his Yarmouth bow, while Franklin William is another with plenty scope for better but Mark Johnston’s APPROACHABILITY was impressive and most professional in his winning bow at Pontefract recently and he should only improve for it. The son of New Approach may defy his penalty.

3.40 – MansionBet Bet 10 Get 20 Handicap (1m½f)
Given he escapes a penalty for winning at Ayr last week (his fourth win in five lately) Gweedore must feature on any shortlist. So, too, the chances of Sadiqaa and the unexposed Rogue Bear are clear enough but GORDONSTOUN is already a dual winner over C&D (both on soft) and the Gleneagles colt should be sharper for his recent comeback effort at Wolverhampton. He’s also got the bonus of Cieren Fallon taking over in the saddle now.

4.15 – British Stallion Studs EBF Nursery (1m2f)
Sanitiser remains on the up after battling gamely at Newcastle to record a third win in only five starts but it remains to be seen if he’ll prove as effective on this testing ground and, in any case, he may need to improve to defy his new mark. All six have merit to them but NEW PURSUIT was a shade unlucky at Windsor a month ago, denied a clear run at a crucial time on his handicap bow. Tom Marquand takes over here and given his debut win was on good-to-soft, he should be able to handle the conditions and build on that run.

4.50 – MansionBet Best Odds Guaranteed Handicap (1m2f)
Bad Company is a former C&D scorer and arrives back here after winning at Sandown when last sighted in early August. He’s on a career-high mark now. Chelmsford debut winner Purple Ribbon went down fighting under a penalty in one run there since and will have claims if handling conditions but NATCHEZ TRACE was only just touched off over C&D a week ago and, having run well enough on soft in Ireland in the past, is a major player from an unchanged mark now.

5.20 – MansionBet Watch And Bet Apprentice Handicap Division 1 (1m2f)
Tim Easterby’s gelding MAC AILEY was rewarded for some consistent recent efforts when scoring at Hamilton last month over an extended-mile on soft ground. He was in total command there and is proven to stay this trip, while he handles the forecast conditions too. It’s certainly no leap of faith to see him doubling down 16 days later.

5.50 – MansionBet Watch And Bet Apprentice Handicap Division 2 (1m2f)
Not many of these make strong appeal. The likes of Crestwood and Dolphin Vista will have good chances if showing their best stuff, but that’s far from certain. YOUR LOVE IS KING won over C&D in August and could go well again here. The Kingman gelding had too much ground to make up at Beverley last time but is relatively unexposed at this distance and may shine for Michael Bell if handling conditions underfoot.
