Annan Athletic v Stenhousemuir
ANNAN ATHLETIC have just about kept up with highly-touted Kelty Hearts in League Two this season and look good things to continue their fine recent run with a win against Stenhousemuir.
The Galabank side have won four-in-a-row in the league and impressed with a string of fine wins.
Yet they are still a shade of odds-on at 5/6 when they welcome the league bottom side on Saturday. Stenny have picked up just two points this season and appear to be struggling.
Perhaps it’s because they are regarded as one of the lesser clubs in the league, but Peter Murphy’s charges appear not to be getting the respect they deserve and they look to be a great price to make it five in a row.
Alloa Athletic v Falkirk
FALKIRK can win a local derby at Alloa and put their league blip against Queen’s Park behind them.
Paul Sheerin has got the fans on board after a few truly horrific seasons for the Bairns, including last term’s spectacular collapse where they failed to even ake the play-offs.
They had been motoring nicely until Queen’s Park snatched a win at the Falkirk Stadium in their last league game.
However, they have a perfect chance to get back on track in Clackmannanshire against Barry Ferguson’s Wasps, who have found life back in League One not entirely to their liking after one win in four. And the odds-against price is 21/20 is acceptable.
Ayr United v Dunfermline
DUNFERMLINE have had a car crash of a season after so much was promised, but they can get their campaign back together with a win at struggling Aur United.
The Pars were expected to challenge in the Championship. However, they have suffered a few spankings and manager Peter Grant has been criticised for being too open with his tactics.
But they won’t get a better chance to bounce back than against Ayr at Somerset Park.
Ayr were well beaten by Raith Rovers in midweek and appear to be a side in serious trouble with manager David Hopkin leaving this week. It didn’t really work out for the former Livingston boss in Ayrshire – United haven’t won a league game in their last 12 outings.
Dunfermline could do with an injection of confidence and can get it at 5/4 against a weakened United team who will also be without the suspended Aaron Muirhead and Jonathan Afolabi who were both sent off against Rovers in midweek.
