We’re half-way through the round of 16 at Euro 2020 and KevMac gives us his verdict on tonight’s matches. Will we see any shocks or will Spain and France cruise through?
Croatia v Spain
CROATIA passed Scotland off the park at Hampden but they won’t do that to Spain in tonight’s last-16 clash.
The Spaniards had 75 per cent possession against Sweden in their group opener but still couldn’t find a way through.
However, Luis Enrique’s men found their shooting boots to crush Slovakia 5-0 and book their place in the last 16.
So they are William Hill‘s heavy 6/10 favourites to see off the Croats inside 90 minutes and reach the quarter-finals.
Despite impressing in their 3-1 win over Scotland, there’s still a sense Croatia are a team on the slide.
They offered little threat in the 1-0 loss to England so a Spain win to nil could be the value bet at 11/8 with William Hill.
Pablo Sarrabia made a big impact against Slovakia with a goal and an assist. He’s 3/1 at McBookie to set up another tonight and that’s decent value.
France v Switzerland
France face Switzerland in today’s other last-16 tie and it’s not a game that promises a lot of goals.
Three of their last five meetings have ended in 0-0 draws, including a stalemate at Euro 2016.
Under 2.5 goals is a best 14/19 at SBK, which is decent for accumulators, while betting against both teams to score pays 5/7 at SportNation.
Karim Benzema got off the mark with a double against Portugal and is 9/5 at SportNation for another goal tonight.
Swiss enforcer Granit Xhaka always gets stuck in and is 9/5 at McBookie to be carded.
Super Singles
- Spain win to nil (11/8, William Hill)
- Karim Benzema anytime scorer (9/5, SportNation)
Star Bet
- France’s three group games produced just 13 corners in total. Under 8.5 corners pays 11/10 at Paddy Power tonight.
