This week sees 35 top races take place over five days at the Royal Ascot meeting, so it makes perfect sense to me to pop up a pick or two in every single race. Whether it’s a Placepot or a Lucky 15, I’m pretty sure you’ll be having a betting interest this week.

Royal Ascot Top Jockey
This contest looked all over bar the shouting in 2020 when Jim Crowley surged into an early lead, but it Frankie Dettori’s final day treble that tied the contest on six winners apiece and gave the Italian the outright win courtesy of more placed horses.
2021 prices: Frankie Dettori 6/4, Ryan Moore 7/4, Jim Crowley 10/1, Oisin Murphy 10/1.
Based on his book of rides this year, I feel Frankie is a good bet at 6/4 to win this top jockey prize again.
Royal Ascot Top Trainer
John Gosden was crowned the 2020 Royal Ascot “top trainer” with six winners, with Aidan O’Brien and Roger Varian hot on his coattails with four winners each.
2021 prices: John Gosden 7/4, William Haggas 8/1, Charlie Appleby 12/1, Sir Michael Stoute.
A slightly leftfield selection from me but I will be taking Gosden on with Appleby this year. The Godolphin Blue really has the potential to go into overdrive this week so the 12/1 for Appleby looks rather tempting to say the least. It is also a decent safety net if Dettori/Gosden fail to click.
