SlipsTips has lined up a Bet Builder double ahead of the penultimate round of English Premier League fixtures on Wednesday night.
Tottenham vs Aston Villa (Wednesday, 18:00)
Tottenham will look to tighten their grip on sixth spot in the Premier League when they entertain Aston Villa on Wednesday evening.
Spurs’ campaign has been plagued with inconsistency but they control their own Europa League destiny ahead of the final two rounds of fixtures.
Aston Villa, meanwhile, made a strong start to the campaign but they have been unable to maintain their early-season form and are now scrapping it out for a mid-table finish.
Given that consistency hasn’t been something associated with either of these respective sides this season I’m going to steer clear of the match result market here and instead back each team to see over zero cards as the first half of my Bet Builder double.
Aston Villa’s 1.81 card per game average is the second-highest tally in the top-flight this term, while Tottenham are averaging 1.50 cards per 90 minutes in the Premier League this season.
What’s more, the Villans have been carded at least once in 10 of their last 11 league games, while Tottenham have seen at least one card in 17 of their last 18 top-flight tussles.
Referee Craig Pawson is one of the more card happy operators in the Premier League this season and given the pace and flair these two teams possess in forward areas, I’m more than happy to back both teams to pick up a booking in what should be an entertaining end-of-season encounter.
Burnley vs Liverpool (Wednesday, 20:15)
Burnley’s home form has been poor recently and they should expect little respite when Liverpool come calling on Wednesday night.
Sean Dyche’s Clarets have already confirmed their Premier League safety but they have somewhat surprisingly failed to triumph in each of their last nine top-flight tussles at Turf Moor.
Liverpool, on the other hand, have won five of their last six Premier League road trips, the most recent of which saw goalkeeper Alisson score a last-gasp header to keep the Reds in the race for Champions League qualification.
Jurgen Klopps’ side have no room for error this midweek and I’m going to complete my double by simply backing Burley to pick up at least one booking during this bout.
The Clarets are averaging 1.33 cards per home game this season and they have picked up at least one caution in 12 of their last 13 league outings at Turf Moor.
Referee Chris Kavanagh is averaging 3.10 cards per game this term and with that in mind, coupled with the likelihood of Liverpool dominating possession in Lancashire, I’m happy to complete the Bet Builder with over zero Burnley cards to give us a backable 4/5 double with Bet 365.
