There is plenty of racing action to enjoy this Friday and among it all is an evening card at Nottingham where MansionBet are proud to be title sponsors on every race.
The action gets started 5.00pm with seven races taking us through to an 8.00pm finish. Watch it all unfold via live streaming when logged into MansionBet. Our tipster has selections for all the Friday evening Nottingham action.
5.00 – MansionBet Watch And Bet Restricted Novice Stakes (5f)
Most of the contenders in the opener have a legitimate chance of coming out on top. Meng Tian built on a pleasing all-weather debut last month when besting the re-opposing Adeb in a five-runner C&D event three weeks ago. He’s got a penalty but he did that in good style and might still hold the second. Newcomer Sharp Riposte commands a look but AMAZONIAN DREAM could be the answer. He was second in a Newbury maiden a day before Meng Tian won here, and that form has a solid enough look to it. Any improvement should make him tough to beat.
Selection: Amazonian Dream @ 7/4
5.30 – MansionBet Bet 10 Get 20 Handicap (6f)
This is as wide open a handicap as you’ll find today. Red Bravo is one to consider having easily scored over C&D on soft ground last season, while Obee Jo is another with winning form here last term that ought to go well. Once of Ballydoyle, PEDESTAL has tumbled from those lofty beginnings and a basement rating tells plenty of his current status. His recent Windsor fourth back on turf had some merit in it and with Sean Davis taking over here, he could have a squeak if he builds on that.
Selection: Pedestal @ 14/1
6.00 – MansionBet Beaten By A Head Novice Stakes (1m2f)
The form of his Newmarket debut win (1m, soft) last term is solid and MYSTICAL DAWN can easily be forgiven a tame run in good company at Meydan in early spring. The Godolphin-owned son of Sea The Stars should have plenty more to come and can bag this, despite a penalty. Meritorious passed on a good opportunity at Leicester recently and needs to improve, so the big danger could be Nagano, not beaten far in a Newmarket maiden last month despite running rather green.
Selection: Mystical Dawn @ 3/1
6.30 – MansionBet Best Odds Guaranteed Fillies’ Handicap (1m2f)
Another wide open betting heat in store with 16 fillies going to post. Western Beat should be sharper for the comeback run at Beverley last time and joins turf debutante Something Enticing on the shortlist. KALMA certainly didn’t have everything go her way when she scored over C&D last month, overcoming traffic woes, and there’s a fair chance she can follow up from 4lb higher.
Selection: Kalma @ 11/2
7.00 – MansionBet App Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (1m½f)
A big field looking to make a breakthrough and close monitoring of the betting market is advisable. Jubilee Bridge and Barshaa would be newcomers to note if vibes are positive. Aura Blue is a stablemate of the latter, and looks the pick of Simon & Ed Crisford pair on jockey bookings. She can offer more switched to turf after two promising all-weather runs. Ed Walker’s regally-bred daughter of Kingman, MARIE ANTOINETTE ran a fine third at Newbury on debut despite being too keen early. She can almost certainly build on that. Velvet And Steel got a bit unbalance at Newmarket last time and can do better, with Unfoolish another potential improver.
Selection: Marie Antoinette @ 5/2
7.30 – MansionBet Blog Handicap (1m½f)
Rains Of Castamere scooted in at Pontefract on handicap bow nine days ago and isn’t certain to be undone by a penalty now. Last season’s soft-ground Redcar winner Bonneval continues to go the right way with each start and looks to be on a fair mark starting out in handicaps after an all-weather appearance in March but a chance is taken with AWEEDRAM for Kevin Frost. He hasn’t quite hit the high notes since leaving Alan King but he’s now lurking on a workable mark back on grass if he can recapture last summer’s turf form and he’s a decent price with that in mind.
Selection: Aweedram @ 11/1
8.00 – MansionBet 3-2-Win Fillies’ Handicap (1m½f)
Copper Queen starts life in handicaps from a fair mark and should get on the scoresheet before long, while Professional Widow has shaped with plenty promise in all three outings and is another handicap first-timer with a claim. QURTAJANA had twice shaped well on the all-weather prior to last month’s turf bow at Newmarket where she was 7/2 joint-favourite at the off. She didn’t finish off her race with any conviction but perhaps the track wasn’t for her. She moves into handicaps and the Gosden’s filly might be worth forgiving that run at HQ three weeks ago.
Selection: Qurtajana @ 10/1
