Scotland meet new foes Israel in Tel Aviv on Sunday – the sixth time the two nations will meet in less than three years.
Both sides are already chasing points in Group E after they each failed to win their opening matches in midweek. The Scots won’t be too disheartened following their home draw with Austria in which they came from behind twice. The Israelis would’ve hoped for better than a 2-0 defeat at home to Denmark.
There’s been little to choose between the countries in their recent meetings and it could be another close encounter. The bookies agree. Bet365 have each side at 17/10 to win and the draw at 21/10.
England cruised to a 5-0 win over San Marino on Thursday but won’t have things quite so easy in Albania. The hosts have won their last four matches although they scraped a 1-0 win over lowly Andorra in midweek.
England are usually ultra-reliable in these kind of matches having lost just two of their past 29 away matches in World Cup qualifying campaigns (W19 D8). Gareth Southgate’s men are just 2/7 to win but back them to win and score 2 or more in a BetBuilder and you can get a much more meaningful 8/13.
Harry Kane is 5/2 to open the scoring and he’s scored in all seven of his last away qualification matches for England.
With so many short prices around it’s going to be hard to find much to get excited about but a foru-fold acca of France (at Kazakhastan), England (in Albania), Spain (v Gerogia) and Germany (to beat Romania) pays over 6/5 at bet365.
