IT’S not often Hibs and Hearts are at home on the same night with the double paying 13-10 at McBookie.
The Edinburgh rivals are in different divisions but only the absence of fans has allowed this to happen.
I was impressed by Hibs’ show against Celtic on Saturday until a last-gasp blunder that handed the champions a point.
Hearts’ game at Dunfermline was also live and I was less taken by the display of the Jambos who crashed 2-1.
The capital clubs will be hurting for different reasons and both should respond with victories tonight.
Hibs look not bad at evens with McBookie to beat a St Johnstone side lacking goals with just two in four Premiership outings. They are, however, unbeaten in eight despite being short up front and haven’t lost in eight at Easter Road.
Interestingly Saints have netted injury-time goals on their last three visits there but lost to a 90th-minute goal at home when they last met. Anyone for a late strike?
Kevin Nisbet hit Hibs’ second against Celtic after missing his second penalty in a row and is 11-10 at McBookie to score again.
Hearts were tipped by many to go through the season unbeaten and McBookie took plenty of big bets at 5-1 but they lasted four games.
Robbie Neilson’s men are short at 2-13 to beat Alloa at home and should cover the -1 handicap at 4-7.
Stephen Kingsley has been one of Neilson’s best performers this season. He netted a consolation against the Pars and is 7-2 at McBookie to strike again.
The third Scottish game sees Falkirk head to Dumbarton looking for top spot in League One and I’m on the Bairns at 4-9. Callumn Morrison has been their best player and netted the winner against Cove. Back him when prices are available.
