THERE’S just one week to go to the start of the English season and our focus on Saturday is split between internationals and domestic games.
England travel to Iceland for their Nations League opener while there are dozens of EFL Cup matches.
Results haven’t been brilliant for punters since the internationals kicked off on Thursday with many players missing and others not match fit.
That was highlighted on Friday when the eight ties produced just one home win – Holland beating Poland.
Scotland blew a half-time lead to draw with Israel but next month’s play-off between the sides is more important while Northern Ireland did well to draw in Romania in Ian Barraclough’s first game in charge.
There hasn’t been one outstanding display from any of the leading countries but that’s not too surprising under the circumstances.
Well done to any winners and good luck on a busier card on Saturday.
I’d continue to go with low stakes on Saturday although I’m tipping England to win well as they go for revenge against the Iceman. My tips are reasoned on a separate preview.
SlipTips has posted predictions and a match preview for Iceland vs England.
Again go easy with the EFL Cup games as most clubs are using these as friendlies ahead of the season starting. Again I’ve picked out a treble and it’s on a separate post.
