IT’S a full Scottish Premiership card this midweek with 5 games being played on Wednesday but Tuesday see’s Aberdeen travel to Hamilton in what is a crucial match for both sides.
There’s also a full card of matches from the English league and I’ll be looking at the best betting angle for goals from League One and Two.
Hamilton Accies vs Aberdeen (7.45pm)
The year is 2078 and its been 58 years since Aberdeen last scored a goal, well o.k, that may be a slight exaggeration but my word has it has been a truly miserable 2020 for Aberdeen fans.
Played 6 and scored one paltry goal and even that was a 86th minute penalty against part time Dumbarton. One goal in 540 mins is a shambolic return for the goal shot shy Don’s who are now without a goal in their last 5 matches.
Three 0-0’s and two 1-0 defeats has seen the pressure heap on dons boss Derek McInnes but they have an excellent opportunity to 1) actually score a goal and 2) get a much needed 3 points at relegation threatened Hamilton
The goals have dried up for Sam Cosgrove – the big English man had been in terrific scoring form over the last 12 months buts its just not happening for him at the moment.
Aberdeen’s problem is they just don’t seem to have that spark in midfield and despite a fairly productive January transfer window its just not happening for them.It would be unthinkable for them to go 6 games without scoring especially at struggling Accies.
Hamilton have kept one sheet in their last 17 matches and I would be stunned if they managed one tonight (even against the goal shy Don’s). 19 points separate these two and the Dons have more quality in their squad, I fancy Aberdeen to get the much needed three points and relieve a bit of the pressure on Derek McInnes.
They are unbeaten in their last 4 trips to Hamilton (3 wins and a draw) and I can’t stress how big this game is for Aberdeen. Appreciate its hard to have confidence in a team without a win or goal in 5 but they are a better side than Hamilton. They should be backed to collect three points
Recommended Bet:
- Aberdeen to win
- 4/5 (Betfred) (NAP) (NB)
