OUTSIDE of a fascinating race for the title the story of the season have been Motherwell.
Stephen Robinson’s Steelmen are punching above their weight in the fight to be best of the rest.
Wednesday’s 1-0 win at Aberdeen was their latest display of intent and moved Well four points clear of their rivals.
Next up today is a test against Hibs who would love to challenge for third but in reality will be aiming to finish top six.
Well have won three out of four at home to Hibs, including a 3-0 romp last August, and four of their last five.
Consistency has been a problem for Jack Ross’ men who have been hit and miss all season and by all accounts were poor in edging out Hamilton at home in midweek.
Motherwell should win this and are a best 7-5 with McBookie. Liam Donnelly hit the winner at Pittodrie and is attracting the attention of Celtic.
He has netted six this season and is 15-8 with McBookie to score again.
Celtic are up before Rangers this weekend and should extend the gap at the top today.
They’ve netted 15 without reply in their last four home meetings with Ross County are 1-10 at Marathonbet to win.
Neil Lennon started Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths in the 3-1 midweek win at Kilmarnock and both could line up again.
Edouard netted first at Rugby Park and is 23-10 at McBookie to score first while Griffiths, with two in two, is 4-7 to net for the third game running.
Celtic have banged in 10 goals in two meetings with County this season and I can see another convincing win. Back Celtic -2 at 4-5 with Paddy Power.
Rangers breached St Mirren’s brick wall just once and head to Hearts again without Alfredo Morelos.
Jermain Defoe grabbed the goal against the Buddies but Steven Gerrard admitted he’s missing his Colombian hitman.
The Ibrox side have struggled in recent games at Tynecastle winning three out of eight but this time face a Jambos side four points adrift at the foot.
Hearts often raise their game for visits by the Old Firm and Daniel Stendel has done a good bot of business by signing Liam Boyce from Burton. He was prolific in the Premiership for Ross County and should provide the goals they’ve bee missing,
Rangers are no bigger than 1-3 at Ladbrokes but if Boyce and Naismith click then an away with both scoring could be the call at 2-1 with bet365.
Defoe will again be the main man up top and is 16-5 at Unibet to score.
If Hearts are to score it will probably come from ex-Ger Steven Naismith who is 14-1 with bet365 to break the deadlock and 9-2 to net at anytime.
In the Championship Partick Thistle are second bottom but it’s clear from their January signings they’re targeting a play-off spot.
Ian McCall has done great business in getting forwards Brian Graham and Zak Rudden, midfield enforcer Darian Mackinnon and Jamie Barjonas as well as defender Lee McConnell on loan from Celtic.
Rudden impressed on his debut against Celtic in the Cup and Graham should score goals at this level. He is 9-2 with McBookie to break the deadlock on his debut.
Thistle are 7-5 to win at an Arbroath side three points above them and I’m backing the new boys to start pushing the Jags up the table.
In League One I’m backing Falkirk to win to nil for the third time this season against Forfar and that pays evens with BetVictor.
League Two leaders Cove have won four out of five with three or more goals and against an Annan side that’s conceded 17 in five you should be able to back Cove and over 3.5 at 13-8 with Sky Bet.
