I HAD a good day out at Newcastle and some winning bets helped pay for the trip.
Watched Leicester bring up my Super Single while sipping newky brown in one of the station bars – and that was after changing my Scottish notes for less valuable English ones in a local bookies with winning trebles at 18-5 and 4-1.
Also invested some of that on Jamie Vardy to score first at 7-2 so it was a good night too.
Well done to all the winners and sorry for not mentioning them but just not been around.
I was at St James’ Park with a Bournemouth-supporting pal and while he was disappointed it was a decent game.
The Cherries dominated the first half hour and should have been two or three up but goals either side of the break knocked their confidence and Newcastle packed the defence and held out fairly comfortably.
If they had a centre-forward such as Alfredo Morelos they might stay up comfortably. The front three are all exciting and talented players but between them have just one goal from Joelinton and that has to improve.
Moving on to Sunday and we have the big one between Liverpool and Man City. While I reckon Liverpool will edge I’m not sure if I want to invest on it. Macca reckons there will be plenty of goals with Dejan Lovren playing and Claudio Bravo in goals for City in place of the injured Ederson.
I hope he’s right and it’s a thriller and goals could be the way to go.
Elsewhere in the Premier League we have Wolves v Aston Villa and Man United v Brighton and there are 10 FA Cup ties.
In Scotland it’s Celtic v Motherwell and Livingston v Rangers and there are plenty of big games to look at on the Continent.
My tips for the Liverpool, Celtic and Rangers games were posted on Friday night and I’ll add top tips around lunchtime. And don’t forget to check the match previews and welovebetting for their tips and video chat.
