THERE’S a lot to like about Atalanta but they’re too leaky to worry Man City.
Pep Guardiola’s side thumped the Italians 5-1 at the Etihad and should follow up tonight with another victory.
The one concern is how strong a team Pep Guardiola puts out ahead of Sunday’s meeting with Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp went weaker than I thought he would and they just managed to beat Genk.
If I’d known that line-up I wouldn’t have backed Liverpool -2 so you might want to see City’s XI before betting on this one.
Atalanta are top scorers in Serie A with 30 but have lost all three in the Champions League with a minus nine goal difference and conceded 18 in 11 in Serie A.
City love playing attack-minded opponents and have the potential to pick them off with ease having averaged three a game this season. They are just 1-2 at McBookie to win but best bet could be City and over 2.5 match goals at 8-11 with Ladbrokes.
Sergio Aguero (2) and Raheem Sterling (3) shared the five goals a fortnight ago and both to score again pays 5-2 at Betfred. Back them if they both start.
The other game in City’s Group C sees Dinamo Zagreb face Shakhtar Donetsk at home with the winners likely to finish second unless Atalanta win tonight. It’s not an easy call but Dinamo look a fair price at 6-4 with Betfred.
Spurs head to Red Star Belgrade having hammered the Serbs 5-0 at home. That result ended a bad run of form and since they’ve lost unluckily at Liverpool and drawn 1-1 at Everton.
Son Heung-min was distraught after the tackle that led to Andre Gomes’ horrific injury and could miss out tonight but Harry Kane, 4-5 at McBookie to score, is likely to return after illness.
Red Star are tough at home and Spurs have won just six of their last 22 on the road in Europe and none in the EPL since January.
That makes a best price of 8-13 on a Spurs win a lottery and I’d rather take both to score at the same odds.
Also in Group B we have Bayern Munich v Olympiakos as the Germans start life without manager Niko Kovac with Hansi Flick the interim manager and Arsene Wenger now favourite to get the job permanently.
It was no surprise Kovac was axed after a 5-1 defeat at Eintracht Frankfurt at the weekend. The champions’ last six have brought up both to score and while the Greeks aren’t the most prolific they netted two at home to Bayern in their defeat two weeks ago. Over 2.5 goals and both to score should land.
Elsewhere PSG and Real Madrid should win at home to Bruges and Galatasaray respectively but both are short. I Kylian Mbappe starts take him at 3-1 with Betway to score first.
Juventus are also short at a best 4-6 with Coral so again look at a scorer and it has to be Cristiano Ronaldo at 3-1 with Unibet.
