IT turned out to be a Super Sunday of sport with dramatic finishes in the golf, tennis and cricket.
Bernd Wiesberger won the Scottish Open after an error-strewn three-hole play-off in North Berwick while Novk Djokovic made history by beating Roger Federer to win Wimbledon on a tiebreak.
And while I’m not a cricket fan it would be difficult to top the drama as England beat New Zealand to win the World Cup on boundaries after a Super Over draw.
I was working on the Daily Record sports desk last night and have hardly had time to catch breath.
On the football front Senegal and Algeria made the African Cup Nations final as I predicted but Senegal need extra time so my double was beaten but Scott’s came up for his members bet.
It was a tougher day at the Scottish Open with only one of my twoball treble winning and thoughts now turn to The Open which starts at Portrush on Thursday and what an occasion that promises to be.
Well done to all Sunday’s winners – today’s a no-bet day for me but plenty to look forward to in the rest of the week and Greg’s posted a midweek preview here.
