IT’S a small card tonight and I’m going to stick to what I know best and focus on matters closer to home as Rangers host Kilmarnock in the Scottish Cup Replay . These two met 11 days ago and fought out a 0-0 draw and it was the 3rd match in a row Rangers have failed to beat the Ayrshire side. Rangers are ridiculously short at 1/2 so finding value is difficult but there is one market that stands out for me.
Rangers vs Kilmarnock (KO 7.45pm)
The pressure is starting to mount on Steven Gerrard and his Rangers players as they held on for a draw against St Johnstone on Saturday which leaves them 8 points behind Celtic in the title race.
Their only realistic prospect of silverware this season is the Scottish Cup and it would be inexcusable if they didn’t progress into the next round. That’s easier said than done though as they welcome a Kilmarnock side who have had the better of the Ibrox side this season.
Killie have had a tough run of results and are now without a win in 5 and whilst I still expect Rangers to progress, Steve Clarke’s side will be a tough test.
The biggest positive for Rangers is the return of their star man Alfredo Morelos. They are lost without him(one win in 10 games that he has missed) its a huge boost and will certain aid there need for goals having drawn a blank on during his most recent two game suspension.
My approach here tonight is the corners market and its pretty straight forward.
- Rangers last 10 home matches total match corners: 20/15/10/13/10/24/10/13/10/10 (135 corners)
- Of those corners 107 of them were for Rangers with Rangers hitting 7 or more corners in 9 of those games
- Kilmarnock too rack up some high corner counts and should contribute 4+
Its a cup game, Rangers need to win this and after throwing his players under the bus again after Saturdays draw with St Johnstone, Steven Gerrard we may see the desired reaction.
Corners looks the best shout with Rangers raking up at least 7 or 8
Recommended Bets:
- Over 9.5 Corners
- 4/5 (William Hill) (NAP)
- Over 11 Corners
- 15/8 (Bet365)
