Stevenage v Tottenham F.A Cup Betting
Tottenham will have the chance to move one step closer to their first F.A Cup final appearance since they held the famous trophy aloft in 1991when they step out against against Stevenage in the 5th round of the competition on Saturday.
Spurs have so far enjoyed an outstanding season, and are not out of the running for their first league title in more than fifty years, with just seven points separating them from league leaders Manchester City.
Now they switch their focus to the F.A Cup however, and with both City and Manchester United out of the running, Harry Redknapp’s side will know they have an excellent chance of going all the way this year.
So far they have enjoyed a favourable run in, with Watford and Cheltenham being dealt in a relatively straightforward manner, and with a quarter finals place beckoning Redknapp will no doubt field a strong side at Broadway Hall on Saturday.
In their last outing, Newcastle were dispatched as Spurs run riot at White Hart Lane, with Louis Saha claiming a brace on his home debut as the home side claimed a one-sided 5-0 win.
Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone was ruled out for the remainder of the season on Wednesday as the club revealed the former Derby midfielder would undergo surgery for the second time on his injured ankle.
Rafael Van der Vaart is believed to be nearing full fitness but is unlikely to be risked against Stevenage, while Aaron Lennon and Jermain Defoe made comebacks from spells on the sidelines against Newcastle.
Younes Kaboul is also a doubt meaning Ledley King may have to play back-to-back games alongside Michael Dawson, while William Gallas and Sandro are unlikely to take part once more.
Stevenage meanwhile have enjoyed a successful campaign so far, with a run of just one defeat in their last ten games taking them up into the play-offs.
A 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday in their last league outing has rounded of an excellent run of new boss Gary Smith, while their place in the fourth round was secured with a 1-0 win over Notts County last month after their 3rd round success against Reading – however a lack of games in recent weeks thanks to a frozen pitch may have hampered their chances of causing an upset against their illustrious opponents.
Match Winner
While Stevenage may dream of an upset for the ages, Tottenham remain overwhelming favourites to make it through to the quarter finals.
StanJames have the visitors placed at 1.30 (3/10) to make it through safely while Stevenage are 21/2 to spring a shock on their Premier League opponents with the same bookmakers.
The home side are 5.50 (9/2) with Paddy Power to claim a draw and force a replay at White Hart Lane.
First Goalscorer
Louis Saha bagged two goals on his debut last weekend, and the former Everton forward is the 4.00 (3/1) favourite with BetFred to get proceedings underway on Saturday.
Emmanuel Adebayor is 5.00 (4/1) with Coral but may not start so is a risky bet, while Defoe could be given the nod and is 4.50 (7/2), also with Coral.
Stevenage will rely on Craig Reid to give them the advantage, and BetFred have him placed at 11.00 (10/1).
Recommended Bet
First Goalscorer: Louis Saha, 4.00 (3/1) BetFred
Correct score: 3-0 Tottenham, 9.00 (8/1) Coral
