MICK McCARTHY and Ally McCoist have been backed at Paddy Power in the sack races markets north and south of the border.

McCarthy, has been cut from 4-6 to 1-2, after his side’s tame defeat by Liverpool at the weekend.

Despite improved form Blackburn’s Steve Kean remains second favourite at 6-1, although he was 5-4 favourite three weeks ago. Chelsea’s Andre Villas-Boas makes up the top three at 15-2.

In Scotland, Paddy Power has suspended betting on the SPL sack race following a flood of bets on McCoist after he was unable to sign anyone following the sale of top scorer Nikica Jelavic to Everton.

The Ibrox boss plunged from 5-1 to 6-4 before the book was closed. Paddy Power have cut Celtic to 2-9 for the title with Rangers out to 11-4.
