I POSTED the both teams to score treble last night but here’s some reasoning behind the picks.
My first pick is second-placed Peterborough v fourth-placed Preston and it’s a match between two form sides who have both netted in five of their last six.
You’re never going to get good odds on a Peterborough match seeing both score but two of their last three league outings have been no to that market and their four home games have totalled just nine goals which is a surprise.
Preston have kept clean sheets at Sheffield Utd and Walsall and won their last five but this is a tougher test. It should be a close game and hopefully with a few goals.
I’m staying in League Two for my second choice and it’s Walsall v Bradford. Like the other fixture both sides have netted in five of their last six and are also unbeaten in their previous four.
Walsall ended Orient’s 100 per cent record last week but will be tested again by a Bradford side who are unbeaten in four and sit comfortably in the top five as they target a second successive promotion.
Complete the treble with Stranraer v Arbroath in Scottish League One. Three of the last four meetings have seen both score including a 4-1 Stranraer win and 4-3 defeat.
Five of Stranraer’s last six have seen both score and they showed their threat by scoring three times at Hibs in a League Cup defeat.
Arbroath striker Alan Cook has netted in six of his last seven while the clubs’s last six matches have featured 27 goals. They netted in a 5-1 defeat at Rangers so should be on target at Stair Park.
