FEB 22: SPL BETTING TIPS
CELTIC have the SPL title in the bag – the only question is when and where they will win it.
If they take maximum points and Rangers drop two before they meet at Ibrox on March 25 the Old Firm derby could be the decider.
At the moment Celtic don’t look shedding anything but Rangers are likely to lose more than two points the way they’re performing.
Neil Lennon’s men meet Dunfermline tonight bidding for 19 wins in a row and an eighth clean sheet on the bounce.
So while they are a biggest 1-6 at Coral to pick up the points the logical step would be go for a win to nil at 8-11 with Ladbrokes and Skybet.
Celtic have netted nine on the road at Hibs and Hearts but their last home success was a scrappy 1-0 v Inverness and they only beat the Pars 2-1 at Parkhead earlier in the season.
With Dunfermline being as big as 25-1 at BetVictor you can have them at 17-20 with the firm plus three while Sportingbet offer 13-8 if you are that way minded.
However, in the first match at Parkhead since Rangers went into administration there is likely to be a party atmosphere and I’ll be on Celtic at -2 at 21-20 with Stan James.
Hot hitman Anthony Stokes and Gary Hooper both netted at Easter Road and are natural picks for first scorer. Stoke is 5-2 at Paddy Power and Bet365 with Hooper 3-1 with Paddy Power and Betfred.
It’s difficult to choose between them so take both to score or look at someone such as Charlie Mulgrew to net at any time.
The deadball expert, also on target at Hibs, is 13-2 with Paddy Power to celebrate his Scotland call-up with a goal.
In the other SPL game Motherwell can close the gap on Rangers to three points by beating Hibs.
The Fir Park men have been thrown an unlikely tilt at a Champions League spot after Rangers were deducted 10 points from going into administration.
Well are 11-4 with McBookie.com to overhaul Gers and while it’s a tough task the way they went about demolishing Hearts at the weekend suggests they have the belief.
Hibs were woeful against Celtic and although boss Pat Fenlon has held clear-the-air talks with his stars it’s difficult to see them leaving Fir Park with anything but a major relegation scrap on their hands.
Back Well at a biggest 8-11 with the likes of William Hill and BetVictor and look at Estonian striker Henrik Ojaama to bag a goal.
He’s netted five times since signing last month and is 6-1 with Paddy Power to score first and 15-8 to net at any time.
Hibs are a best 5-1 at Boylesports with the draw paying 13-5 at Paddy Power and Betfred.
Recommendations
Celtic -2
(21-20, Stan James)
Ojaama to score
(15-8, Paddy Power)
