FEB 19: SPL BETTING TIPS

IF last Tuesday was the day Celtic were handed the SPL title then Saturday was the time it was confirmed the race was all over.

Rangers were docked 10 points on Tuesday for going into administration and defeat by Kilmarnock at home means Celtic will be 17 points clear at the top if they beat Hibs on Sunday.

I reckon the Hoops will pile on the agony for their Glasgow rivals by putting on a show to prove they’re not going to be champions by default.

Celtic are a biggest 2-5 at Skybet but take a chance on them minus one at 20-21 with Bet365 as they attempt to make it 18 domestic wins in a row.

Hibs have managed just one win in 13 league matches and have lost to Celtic in their last five at home.

Scoring goals has been a problem for Pat Fenlon’s men so look at William Hill’s 11-10 on Celtic to win to nil.

Gary Hooper is 10-3 favourite at BetVictor to score first but the men who matter could be ex-Hibees Anthony Stokes and Scott Brown. Stokes is 7-2 (various) to net the opener and Brown
11-4 at Blue Square to score at any time.

In the other SPL game Aberdeen entertain St Johnstone in a fixture that’s recently favoured the away side. Saints have won three of the last four meetings at Pittodrie and have taken more points at home than away this season.

Saints look worth a flutter at 23-10 with Bet365 but it’s worth noting Aberdeen are unbeaten in nine in all competitions so don’t rule out a draw at 23-10 with Coral.

Recommendations

Celtic -1

(20-21, Bet365)

Brown to score

(11-4, Blue Square)
